Showtime In Hollywood

Its official, Showtime has arrived in Hollywood. After becoming part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers last season, Magic Johnson was welcomed in Dodgertown, the only way Mr. Showtime could be welcomed, in grand fashion. Opening day commenced the inaugural season for the new owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and it seems they are in it to win. With a blockbuster trade a year ago with Boston, the Dodgers made numerous acquisitions in the off season to build on an already star studded lineup. Not to mention off season remodeling of Dodger Stadium, including a new replay screen and sound system. Magic Johnson made a name for himself in Los Angeles, when Lakers fans packed arenas night after night to witness the Mr. Showtime led Lakers. Magic is known for his competitiveness in whatever he faced, so to imagine the Dodgers shooting for anything short of a championship is unlikely to be in Magic’s agenda. As opening day festivities began winding down before the home opener in Los Angeles, new part owner Magic Johnson, took the mound to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. As Mr. Showtime took center stage, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly, emerged from the dugout and signaled for a reliever for Magic in the form of All-Time Dodger great, Sandy Koufax. As Sandy made his way to the mound, Magic handed over the ball, and after a brief laugh, Magic’s first plot as Dodgers owner had taken form. What else would you expect from Mr. Showtime, than a show for all on Opening Day? How do you think the Dodgers will fair this year? Weigh in and tell us what you think.
